GreatwoodToday is shutting down.

We started GreatwoodToday about six years ago. We did it as a community service. I tried to elicit the participation of the Greatwood HOA and the M.U.D. Boards but, they did not want to participate for their own reasons. I thought it would be a great way to disseminate information to the community. Some of the local businesses wanted to place ads on the site so we made accommodations for that. Local business people also provided monthly columns to the site to provide useful information to the community members. Jennifer Dolcefino did a tremendous job gathering news and information and posting it to the site and posted it. Jennifer did this without compensation and she took pride in it.

By far the most popular feature on GWT were the forum boards. However, these forum boards have been a continuing source of contention. I have always taken a position of not censoring the posts despite the squabbles that have gone on. Now, the squabbles have grown too great and I don't have the time to mediate my neighbors. As well, I have been threatened with legal action. While this is ridiculous, it is not something I wish to spend time on considering this was a not-for-profit community service project.

It is too bad people could not get along and the agendas of the citizens and organizations of Greatwood could not be better aligned.
